The Association of Kootenay and Boundary Local Governments
The Association of Kootenay and Boundary Local Governments (AKBLG) is the local government association that represents the municipalities and electoral areas of the south-eastern portion of the province of British Columbia. The area includes the Regional Districts of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB), Central Kootenay (RDCK), East Kootenay (RDEK) as well as the Town of Golden and Village of Valemount.
AGM & Conventions
Annually, in late April, AKBLG delegates gather to debate resolutions, get educated on local government matters and network with each other. Find out more information on upcoming and past Conventions here.
Resolutions
Resolutions provide an opportunity for local governments of all sizes and from all areas of AKBLG to express concerns and take a united position. Our members submit resolutions on province-wide or region-specific issues for consideration by the entire membership at the AKBLG AGM held during the annual convention. Resolutions on province wide issues which are endorsed by membership are forwarded to UBCM for consideration.

2025 Annual General Meeting
The Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Government will hold its AGM beginning on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 9:00am MT during the Annual Convention. The AGM will be held in the Kimberley Convention Centre.
Education Seminar – Infrastructure
AKBLG is planning an education seminar focused on Infrastructure prior to the 2025 Convention. This session will be held on April 24, 2025 in Kimberley and focus on an in depth look at issues relating to Infrastructure.
CALL FOR RESOLUTIONS – Deadline approaching
The deadline to submit resolutions for debate at the 2025 AKBLG Convention is February 28, 2025. All resolutions must be endorsed by your local government before submission.
